Many of us NEVER take our own needs into consideration.

Unseen

Unseen can never be,

As with all things, 

Unseen is a dream,

Before the sight of it. 

Unseen is a pristine state,

Where unknown is bliss. 

This forest

We walk through many forests. 

We take paths that lead us nowhere.

We place foot after foot. 

Step and then stumble,

Only to rise and step again. 

We pass tree, root, and people, 

We cross our stories and tales. 

And here we are. 

What don't we see

The human eye is designed to see other eyes,

To recognize them - to spot them instantly.

This is not an empathy mechanism,

It is survival. It is our first line of defense

Against the predators in the night.

We have to see them. 

We have to know that they see us.

In this world, what we see is as vital

As what we do not...

Seeing can save you, not seeing can end you.

This world makes us nothing in the end.

From nothing, to nothing. 

If we're lucky we don't get hung up on the transitions... We don't allow ourselves to be defined, or limited, or regulated.
